Wedding dress alterations
Hems, waists, bodices, straps, sleeves, zippers, cups and trains. Dresses that came in too big, too small, too long, or altered badly somewhere else.
Eagle Rock · Los Angeles
We alter wedding dresses in a small studio, one at a time, and we have been doing it for more than twenty years. Hems, bustles, bodices, sleeves, and dresses that arrived two sizes off.
By appointment.
Most dresses take three fittings. Call and we’ll book all three at once.
“It’s scary to hand your wedding dress over to someone. Roya is the most trustworthy.”
Hems, waists, bodices, straps, sleeves, zippers, cups and trains. Dresses that came in too big, too small, too long, or altered badly somewhere else.
French, American, or whatever the fabric will actually hold. At the last fitting we show you and your maid of honor how to do it, and we make you film it.
Sleeves added or taken away, overskirts, a bolero made from lace you brought back from a trip. If the dress you want does not exist yet, we can build the part that is missing.
Mothers of the bride, bridesmaids, after-party dresses and veils. Bring them along at a fitting and we will look at those too.
Bring the shoes you will actually wear and any undergarments. We go through what the dress needs, what it does not need, and what each change will cost. You leave knowing the whole plan.
The dress is on your body, pinned and adjusted where it matters. This is the appointment where things get decided, and where payment is due.
A last look in the mirror, the bustle demonstration, and the dress goes home with you.
Come to us as early as you can. We have taken dresses on with six weeks to go and less, and we would rather say yes than watch you panic, so call either way.
Every dress is different, so the price depends on the fabric, the layers, and how much of it has to be taken apart.
Call us and we’ll quote each change before we touch anything.

When I told her I wanted to shorten my off-the-shoulder sleeves, she told me why I shouldn’t shorten them and I really appreciated her honesty. She genuinely cares about her work and her clients and offers fair pricing without charging for more than what’s needed.
With only six weeks until my wedding, my dream dress arrived two sizes too big. I was devastated. Luckily I called Roya and she immediately got to work on a game plan. From the moment I walked through her doors, I knew I was in good hands.
From our first phone call, she laid out her process and pricing and stuck to it exactly. She shortened the dress and created the bustles and it came out perfectly. My dress had a lot of material and layers so it couldn’t have been easy for anyone short of an expert level.
You absolutely cannot tell it has been altered and it looks like the dress was a bespoke piece made for me.
I was nervous looking for someone to adjust my dress since I’m a plus-sized bride, but Roya made the experience so easy and comfortable. My dress looked fantastic the day-of and I was so comfortable.
Roya took my Etsy dress and made it MINE. She worked so fast and made sure I was happy with every change. If you want your dress to look and feel intentionally made for you, she is the best.
Roya works on wedding dresses by hand, in a quiet studio on Eagle Rock Blvd, one dress at a time.
Most brides arrive here worried. The dress came late, or it came in the wrong size, or somebody else has already had a go at it. We start by telling you what can be done and what it will cost, and the worrying usually stops there.
Brides drive in from Orange County and the Valley for this. We would rather they did not have to hurry, so call as soon as you have the dress.
Two to three months before the wedding is comfortable. Sooner is better if the dress is heavily beaded or has a lot of layers. If you have less time than that, call anyway. We have taken dresses on with six weeks left and finished them.
Three, for most dresses. Some need a fourth, and we will say so at the first appointment rather than surprising you later.
The shoes you are wearing on the day and whatever you will have on underneath. The hem cannot be decided without them.
No. Dresses arrive here from bridal salons, sample sales, other states and online sellers. Where you bought it makes no difference to what we can do with it.
Yes. Mothers of the bride, bridesmaids, veils, after-party dresses and second looks.
At the second appointment, once the work is agreed. You will have a price for each change before that, at the first appointment.
Tell us when the wedding is and what the dress is doing. We’ll take it from there.
By appointment only.
